Who is responsible
MindYou Careers, represented by Lené van Niekerk, is responsible for deciding how personal information is used for this website and the Career VITALS service. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to lene@mindyoucoach.com.
Information we collect
We may collect contact and enquiry details, booking information, relevant education or career context, assessment responses and results, the personalised report, and notes needed to prepare or discuss feedback.
The website and its service providers may also process basic technical information such as an IP address, browser type, device information and pages visited for hosting, security and performance purposes.
How we use information
Information is used to answer enquiries, arrange and deliver Career VITALS, administer psychometric assessments, interpret results, prepare the report and feedback session, maintain appropriate professional records, protect the service and meet legal or professional obligations.
Depending on the circumstances, processing may be based on consent, the steps needed to provide the requested service, a legal or professional obligation, or a legitimate interest recognised by South African law.
Cookies and website analytics
MindYou Careers uses essential browser storage to remember your privacy preferences and support core website functions. These functions remain available when analytics cookies are declined.
With your permission, Google Analytics uses analytics cookies and similar signals to help us understand visits, page use and website performance. We use this information to improve the website and our communications. Advertising storage, ad personalisation and cross-site marketing storage remain switched off.
Analytics storage is denied by default. Before consent, Google Consent Mode may send limited cookieless signals about consent status, but analytics cookies are not stored. You can accept analytics, choose Essential only or change your preference at any time using Cookie settings. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics storage and removes available Google Analytics cookies set by this website.
Assessment information and children
Assessment responses and results are treated as sensitive and are used only for the agreed assessment purpose. Where the client is a child, a competent person—normally a parent or guardian—will be involved where required, while the learner is included in an age-appropriate and respectful way.
When information is shared
Personal information is shared only when reasonably necessary: with assessment, hosting, communication or administration providers acting under appropriate duties; with professional or legal advisers; when required by law; or when the client or competent person has authorised the sharing.
MindYou Careers does not sell personal information.
Security and international processing
Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are used to protect information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. Some technology providers may process information outside South Africa; where this occurs, appropriate protection is required in line with applicable law.
How long information is kept
Information is kept only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet applicable legal, professional, record-keeping or dispute-resolution requirements. It is then securely deleted, destroyed or de-identified where appropriate.
Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether MindYou Careers holds your personal information and request access, correction or deletion. You may also object to certain processing, withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing, or ask that processing be restricted.
